Ultimately, it comes down to your taste and what you want (well, and budget, but we are just focusing on the design here). The soundbar is for you if you want a single “speaker” to use independently. The 650 is for you if you have a home theater and want more. But if I had to choose, without hesitating, which of these devices I prefer the design of, it would have to be the Bose.

The Sonos Arc is fantastic; I didn’t include it on my list of the top soundbars in its price range by accident! This soundbar is undoubtedly among the best available. This has a genuinely outstanding overall sound because of the strength it provides and the way it can fill a room with sound.

To be fair, we’re talking about one of the best surround sound systems on the market, but there is no comparison between the Bose Lifestyle 650 and the Sonos Arc regarding the total “experience” you get.

The Price

I’ll rephrase Mickey Mouse. This is, without a doubt, the most contentious issue we’ve had thus far today. One of these items is over four times as expensive as the other, so a direct comparison is impossible. After all, is said and done, I believe that we must examine these, and I intend to do so while contrasting their costs. It’s also important to consider whether or not they’re worth the money they’re asking for on their own.

Lifestyle 650 by Bose Wow! Priced at slightly under $4,000, the Bose Lifestyle 650 is an excellent value. Yes, that’s correct; the asking price for this is $4,000. To put it simply, this is Bose’s most expensive surround sound system. A four-thousand-dollar investment is simply out of reach for the vast majority of individuals. Honestly, telling my wife that I’m spending this much money is going to make her squeal!

You are not “overspending,” in my opinion, even with the high price tag. With this, Bose is giving you all they have and then some. The asking price may be reduced by as much as $1000 if you shop about, so be sure to do so. Check out this fantastic video review to see why this is so expensive!

An RRP of $799.99 is currently being advertised for the Sonos Arc. As of this writing, this is Sonos’ most costly soundbar, and it’s widely considered to be one of the best on the market. Sonos is known for its high-quality products, and I’m aware that we’ve looked at the best 5 Soundbars with Subwoofers under $200 on the site.

However, I can vouch for the fact that this soundbar’s sound quality is far superior to that of a sub-$200 soundbar. Yes, this is a high-end soundbar, but it’s not a scam like Bose’s similar product. If you want something of high quality, you’ll have to shell out some cash for it.

The Decision: It’s one thing to claim there’s a $50-$100 difference, but here we’re talking about nearly $3,000! My first car didn’t even come close to costing me more than $3,000! Not that I didn’t like it; it was just a piece of trash. The problem is, neither of these items is outrageously costly in comparison to the value you receive.

The Design

While the sound quality is usually the most crucial consideration when purchasing speakers, aesthetics should not be overlooked. With a stunning 65-inch 4K Smart OLED TV like this LG OLED65CXPUA Alexa Built-in CX OLED TV and a $20 Walmart soundbar underneath, there’s no point. The design of them and how they will integrate into your sitting room or home theatre is why we’re looking at it.

Lifestyle 650 by Bose produces some of the most visually appealing audio equipment on the market. This Soundbar 700 by Bose is very cool! After hearing me brag about how nice it looked, my wife inquired whether I’d be interested in purchasing one for our home. It’s more difficult to discuss this than the Sonos Arc because there are so many components.

In this room, you’ve got a 5.1 system. In addition to the four wall speakers and two subwoofers, you have a receiver. They have a more curved shape than the spacecraft from Flight of the Navigator and are made of a sleek black material. Looks like a box at first, but it has a really interesting shiny finish.

The kid’s fingerprints would be all over that thing, but we’ll let it pass! The subwoofer is circular and futuristic in form, which I find to be aesthetically pleasing. The subwoofer and the back speakers are wired, while the center speaker and the side speakers are wireless.

This is Sonos’ largest soundbar, measuring 3.4 wide by 45 long and 4.5 high, and I think it looks fantastic. It looks great, but you’ll have to make sure your Television stand can withstand the length of it before you buy it. This has a nice look to it. The grille on the front of the soundbar is so cool that I can’t get enough of it. Because of its curvy appearance, it appeals to me on a visceral level.

On the other side of the soundbar, you’ll find all of your audio and video inputs and outputs. A power outlet is available, as expected. On the back, you’ll find an HDMI Arc as well. There is no optical port, in case you were wondering.

Sonos has your back and includes a unique connector that allows you to connect an optical cable to an HDMI. Additionally, there are mounting holes for attaching a wall mount if that’s how you choose to present it.

This boils down to personal taste (and budget, but let’s keep it focused on the design for now) and what you want in the end. A soundbar is a good option if you’re looking for a single speaker that can stand alone. With the 650, you’ll get more for your money’s worth. However, I can’t help but prefer Bose’s design over the others, so I’m going with that.

The Sound

When I was allowed to test out the Bose Lifestyle 650, I jumped at the chance. I’ve had a few opportunities to experiment with the Sonos Arc and each time I’ve come away impressed. My favorite method to pass the time was watching the fantastic Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Collection. I recommend it because it contains the original Jurassic Park movies in 4K, which is just stunning.

Bose Lifestyle 650: Wow, this is incredible! Because it’s a surround sound system, you’ll hear the music from every direction. People that are interested in anything like this are likely to have a home theatre. This is the closest thing you’ll find to movie theater-quality audio. The first thing I tried out was Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time, which I found to be useful.

Let me be clear: I know it seems weird, but I wanted to hear the wrestling ring music and how it sounded when it was being hit from all sides, and I can tell you it made me feel like I was there. Having one of these in a living room would be fantastic, but I think Bose is targeting home theatres with this.

This is a 5.1-channel setup. So, you’ve got your five speakers and subwoofer in place now. They were awe-inspiring for their four smaller speakers. Amazingly, for such a small device, these have so much power. Even at higher settings, the smaller speakers in lower-cost surround sound systems often sound a little too small.

That isn’t the case in this instance. Because of those back speakers, you’ll feel as if you’re right in the middle of the action while you’re playing a game with a lot of shouting and gunshots. As though you were in the middle of the action, the Bose Lifestyle 650 puts you right in the middle of whatever you’re watching.

Sonos Arc: If you want to get a better sense of what I’m talking about in my description of the Sonos Arc soundbar, I highly recommend checking out this amazing Sonos Arc Sound Test. This is a fantastic soundbar. It’s so good that it made my recent list of the best soundbars under $1000. As far as Sonos products go, this is one of their finest. It’s a 3.0 configuration, which is what you’d expect from a soundbar like this.

A central speaker with two speakers on either side of it is what I’m referring to. Astonishingly, it can make a lot of sound at the same time. In anticipation of seeing A Quiet Place II, I watched the first movie and was blown away. Having crystal-clear speech while they were speaking softly and then having your ears blown out when anything dramatic happened was fantastic.

Some soundbars claim to have surround sound capabilities, and Sonos is no exception. While the Sonos Arc does a great job of filling a space with music, it does not have surround sound capabilities. Even so, the sound this produces is just stunning.

You get the full effect if you’re directly in front of it. Please understand that the sound is fantastic no matter where you are in the room. However, if you are upfront and center, you will be blown away by it! Even though Sonos Arc is a fantastic soundbar, my list of the best audio systems in its price range did not include it for anything!

It’s one of the greatest soundbars on the market. Overall, the sound produced by this system is stunning due to its immense strength and ability to fill a space with sound. Bose Lifestyle 650 and Sonos Arc are both excellent surrounds sound systems, but when it comes to the total experience, there is no comparison between the two.

The Remote Control

It’s critical to be able to interact with your gadget in some way. Because of this, a section on how to manage these things was something I wanted to include!

Bose Lifestyle 650: With one of the greatest remotes I’ve ever used on a soundbar, I was eager to discover what the Bose Soundbar 700 has to offer. Is there a remote control that would enable me to control history like in the film Click? Even if it didn’t have a remote control, this device still has one of the best.

I’m not sure where, to begin with, this stuff. In addition to controlling the Lifestyle 650, this media remote can also be used to operate other devices. It’s a little tricky, but there’s a great guide on how to set up and program a Lifestyle remote control that you should look at.

Sonos Arc: Do you recall Marty JR talking to the TV in Back to the Future II and changing the channel? This is how I assume Sonos want everything to go because the Sonos Arc does not come with remote control! Exactly, as with other recent Sonos soundbars, they have ditched the control for good measure.

Rather, you’ll need to use the associated software on your smartphone or tablet to operate it remotely. Nonetheless, the app contains everything you need to handle every aspect, including various presets as well as the ability to customize particular parameters. While this is a decent price, I find it insulting they didn’t provide even a basic remote control.

Bose Vs Sonos Soundbar

The Sonos Arc’s 114 cm width results from its unique design to work with larger TVs. The Arc’s curved shape conceals its size and gives it a slim appearance.

The 104cm-long Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is intended for TVs at least 50 inches in size. With rounded sides, a metal grille, and a polished, impact-resistant tempered glass top, it has a striking appearance with the company’s Smart Soundbar 700.

Both models present touch-sensitive controls, but only the Bose comes with a dedicated remote. Alexa and Google Assistant can control both, but the Bose has Voice4Video as an added perk. With this feature, consumers may use their voice to activate and manage their TV or satellite box, greatly enhancing Alexa’s functionality.

The Bose 900 can be your best option if you have a small TV or just lack space. It is lower in addition to being shorter (5.8cm vs. 8.7cm). Both models come in a black or white color option and appear appropriately friendly.
